Tidewater on Two Wheels

Tidewater on Two Wheels

Amidst the local and nationwide discussions about traffic, pollution, fuel prices and obesity, some would argue that there is a unified solution.  Ride a bicycle.  If Americans exchanged just one in five of their average daily car trips with a ride on a bicycle, the effect would be the equivalent of taking 48 million vehicles off the road.  While the math is compelling, the reality facing local cyclists is that our region is far from "bike friendly." We'll consider the challenges facing local bike enthusiasts as we discuss the state of cycling across Hampton Roads.

Scheduled Guests:

Wes Cheney - Local Cycling Advocate, Norfolk Bicycling and Pedestrian Trails Commission Member

BikeSnobNYC (Eben Weiss) - Author, "THE ENLIGHTENED CYCLIST: Commuter Angst, Dangerous Drivers, and Other Obstacles on the Path to Two-Wheeled Transcendence"
