50 years of Going Boldly
Thursday,
July 7, 2016
Though the original series only ran from 1966 to 1969, the true legacy of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek lives on. This year will mark the 50th anniversary of the sci-fi franchise -- a milestone that was absolutely undreamed of when the Starship Enterprise first launched. We'll look back across half-a-century of Star Trek and consider why the beloved film and television series continues to "live long and prosper." We are joined by guests Jonathan Frakes (Commander Riker of "Star Trek: The Next Generation"), Michael & Denise Okuda (Star Trek graphic and tech designing team), author Ed Gross of "The Fifty-Year Mission: The Complete, Uncensored, Unauthorized Oral History of Star Trek" and author Manu Saadia of "Trekonomics."
