State of the Region Report | Selden Market
Tuesday, October 3, 2017

This week, Old Dominion University releases its annual look at the economic issues facing Hampton Roads. We’ll unpack this year’s report with a look at the impacts of an emerging “gig economy,” the ballooning price of higher education, the opioid crisis, and a region-wide “brain drain.” Plus, we’ll talk with some of the tenants helping to breathe new life into Norfolk’s historic Selden Arcade, following a 2015 explosion that caused widespread damage in the arts center. Tune in on 89.5 WHRV-FM.

Today's Guests:

Robert M. McNab – Is a professor of economics, and deputy director of Old Dominion University's Center for Economic Analysis and Policy (CEAP).

Mary Miller – Is the CEO of The Downtown Norfolk Council, operators of the Selden Market and creators of the Vibrant Spaces program, a way to jumpstart new and neighborhood-defining businesses in Downtown Norfolk
