Synesthesia is a neurological condition that causes some people to involuntary link information taken in by one sense to a corresponding perception in another sense. For example, the number seven may be green to a synesthete or they may be able to taste the sound that they are hearing. Long regarded as a rare curiosity it is now estimated that perhaps as many as one in twenty people has some form of synesthesia. Today we'll talk with Dr. David Eagleman, author of Wednesday is Indigo Blue and Dr. Frederic Tate, a member of the psychology department at Eastern State Hospital.
